We'd like to think lots of things make Unique One a unique and special place. But here are a few things to consider:
- We offer a truly Maine product: the store was founded and has always been owned by a Mainer.
- Our sweaters are made right here in the USA. The wool sweaters are made of Maine wool; the cotton we use is a domestically grown cotton.
- You can have your sweater knit especially for you, custom fitted. If you want the sleeves or body a little shorter or longer,
or the color different from what we have in stock; or a neckline or hem type different from what we have on the shelves, we will
knit your sweater for you and ship it to you. Most special orders cost the same as the sweater would cost if you took it off the shelf, so custom fitting doesn't usually cost you anything more than the
time it takes for us to knit it and send it to you.
- We offer more than sweaters! We are not only a fully-stocked yarn shop -- we also carry a great variety of clothing and gifts.
We try to stock items that are handmade, or Maine-made, as much as possible.
